Overview

TrackMC gives your team a shared AI brain that remembers everything. Decisions, tasks, processes, lessons — captured from conversations and stored in a persistent, searchable memory called the Blueprint. New teammate joins? The Blueprint is already there. Someone leaves? Their knowledge stays. Day one hires ramp in minutes, not months. The system captures broadly and archives stale items automatically. Nothing is deleted. Pinned items are immortal. The knowledge base gets cleaner over time without manual maintenance. AI agents are first-class actors — they have identities, trust tiers, capability declarations, and resource budgets. They log to the same Ledger as humans. The governance layer between humans and autonomous agents is the same system that manages team coordination. Runs with Ollama at zero cost. Full AI features — natural language, auto-capture, personal assistant, team digest — with no credit card and no usage limits. Your data lives on your hardware.

The Problem

Team knowledge dies in chat threads. Every time someone leaves, their tribal knowledge walks out the door. New hires spend months asking questions that have already been answered. Decisions get made, forgotten, and re-debated. Critical context lives in one person's head. Existing tools (Notion, Confluence, Slack AI) are cloud-locked, not portable, and don't capture knowledge organically from conversations.

The Solution

A bot-first team memory system that lives where your team already works — Discord and Slack. TrackMC auto-captures decisions, facts, and context from natural conversations. No manual documentation required. Two-layer architecture: Team memory (Blueprint) is shared, categorized, searchable, with full provenance — who said it, when, confidence level. Personal memory is private, portable, and belongs to the individual. No admin override. No bulk export of personal data. Bootstrap from GitHub to generate team memory from your actual commit history, PRs, and review patterns. Day-one context from real history.

Key Features

  • Greedy AI capture — auto-extracts facts from conversations
  • Shared Blueprint — team knowledge with provenance
  • Personal private memory — yours, portable, exportable
  • Cross-platform — Discord + Slack mirrored in real time
  • Bootstrap from GitHub — instant team memory from repo history
  • Self-hosted — Docker Compose, your hardware, your rules
  • AI provider-agnostic — Claude, GPT, or Ollama (free + local)
  • Daily digests — auto-generated activity summaries

Technical Challenges

Built the entire v1.0 in a weekend with an AI partner. No sanitized "initial commit" hiding the messy parts — the commit history is real. Born in Daytona Beach, Florida — home of the Daytona 500. Speed and iteration are in the DNA. The name carries two meanings: Team Mission Control (the operational layer) and Track Memory Checkpoint (save your team's state, never lose context). Chose BSL 1.1 licensing deliberately — every line of code is public, self-hosting is free forever, but we need the head start before someone clones it as a managed service. After 4 years, it converts to Apache 2.0 automatically.

Results & Impact

Source available on GitHub (BSL 1.1). Self-hostable via Docker Compose. Neon PostgreSQL in production. Cross-platform verified — Discord and Slack mirrored in real time, same brain. Portable MEMORY.md export compatible with OpenClaw. Agent API with trust tiers (spectator → suggest → copilot → autonomous).
